This role is a high-impact opportunity to shape and optimize credit underwriting strategies within a fast-evolving fintech environment. You will play a central role in designing, evaluating, and enhancing credit risk models for both consumer and SMB credit card portfolios. Working closely with cross-functional teams in Banking, Product, Finance, and Data, you will translate complex data into actionable credit strategies that improve profitability and reduce risk exposure. The position combines advanced analytics, strategic thinking, and hands-on model development in a highly data-driven environment. You will also contribute to the evolution of credit policies, risk segmentation, and forecasting frameworks that support real-time financial decision-making. This is a remote-first role offering exposure to large-scale, innovative financial systems used by leading global brands.
- Develop, evaluate, and refine credit policies and underwriting models for consumer and SMB credit card portfolios to optimize risk and profitability
- Build and implement data-driven credit strategies, including segmentation, behavioral analysis, loss forecasting, and line management
- Perform advanced statistical and quantitative analysis to improve credit decisioning and portfolio performance
- Design dashboards and reporting frameworks to track key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics for senior leadership
- Support ongoing monitoring of credit portfolios and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, Data, and Banking partners to align risk strategies with business objectives
- Ensure awareness and integration of regulatory and compliance requirements within credit risk frameworks
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis within a financial institution or fintech environment
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
- Ability to design and execute complex analytical projects with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to develop innovative, data-driven solutions
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting complex analyses to senior stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a quantitative field
- Preferred: Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Preferred: Knowledge of credit card portfolio management, automated decision engines, and regulatory frameworks
- Competitive compensation package with base salary ranging from $99,000 to $145,700 depending on location tier
