Job Description
OVERVIEW
Designs and fabricates templates of assorted materials, such as metal for laying out reference points and dimensions on metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structural shapes used for fabricating, welding, and assembling structural metal products. Plans and develops layout according to blueprints, work orders, tool planning orders, mockups, or sample parts, applying knowledge of trigonometry, product design, and properties of metal.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Requires a thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures.
• Requires a basic understanding of producing & inspecting precision components.
• Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, factory work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Must be able to use various precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, dial indicators, protractors, and tape measures to ensure components have been manufactured to tight tolerances.
• Must have knowledge of basic math and different dies
• Ability to read tape measure and degree finder
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Nails, glues, screws, bolts, solders, or welds component parts to assemble templates.
• Marks job numbers, file codes, dimensions, layout, and fabricating instructions on templates.
• Repairs and reworks templates.
• May construct jigs and fixtures for fabricating machine operations.
• Other job related production functions as needed

• Ability to read blueprints with knowledge of welding symbols
• Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure

• Maximum shop exposure
• Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• No travel required
