Position SummaryThe Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. This position works closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen team to ensure residents receive quality meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences.
Responsibilities- Prepare meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely manner.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and food storage.
- Accommodate special diets and modified textures as directed.
- Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation.
- Work cooperatively with residents, families, and team members.
- Assist with special events, holiday meals, and resident celebrations.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass a Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Previous cooking experience preferred but not required.
- Healthcare, restaurant, or senior living experience is a plus.
- Food Safety Certification preferred but not required.
