Lead Full Stack Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer based in the United States.

This senior technical leadership role focuses on designing, developing, and modernizing complex web-based applications within a collaborative, agile engineering environment. You will play a key role in shaping both front-end and back-end architecture, with a strong emphasis on building scalable, high-performance UI solutions. The position combines hands-on development with technical leadership, including guiding design decisions, reviewing requirements, and supporting engineering best practices across the team.
You will work closely with cross-functional scrum teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust, maintainable software solutions.
A strong focus is placed on modern Java and React ecosystems, with opportunities to work across full-stack technologies in mission-critical systems.
You will also interact with stakeholders and clients, clearly communicating technical solutions tailored to different audiences.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys driving both technical execution and architectural direction.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of full-stack web applications with a strong emphasis on modern UI development.
  • Translate project scope and requirements into actionable technical work items, estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Provide technical direction and input on architecture, design decisions, and system improvements in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications and support junior developers through mentorship and code guidance.
  • Build and enhance applications using React, Java/JEE, Spring Boot, and related web technologies.
  • Participate actively in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous delivery processes.
  • Integrate front-end and back-end systems using RESTful APIs, messaging systems, and modern web standards.
  • Ensure high-quality code delivery through debugging, testing, and performance optimization across the full stack.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of professional software development experience in full-stack or web application engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience).
  • Strong expertise in Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks such as React.
  • Hands-on experience with web technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XML, and REST APIs.
  • Experience working with React ecosystem tools, including NX, monorepos, and modern build tools like Gradle.
  • Familiarity with application servers such as Tomcat, WildFly/JBoss, or IIS.
  • Experience using DevOps and collaboration tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Understanding of CI/CD workflows and tools such as GitHub Actions and modern development practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM environments with strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities.
  • Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), automated testing (e.g., Playwright), and AI-assisted development tools are a plus.
  • Experience in infrastructure, transportation, or large-scale critical systems is considered an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $176,900 to $332,400 USD, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions and long-term savings options.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) offering additional equity-based rewards.
  • Generous paid time off, holidays, and flexible work arrangements.
  • Life and disability insurance coverage for added financial security.
  • Professional growth opportunities in large-scale, mission-critical technology programs.
  • Collaborative and innovative engineering environment focused on impactful infrastructure and digital transformation projects.
