This is a highly collaborative, detail-oriented position that blends content expertise with test development leadership

Accountabilities:
  • Develop high-quality math assessment items based on state item specifications and curriculum frameworks
  • Conduct independent content and preliminary reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with standards
  • Lead educator review sessions, rubric validation meetings, data reviews, and standard-setting workshops
  • Translate assessment blueprints into structured item development plans and manage item pool creation
  • Oversee math item development for assigned projects, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables
  • Communicate directly with state clients and external stakeholders regarding assessment design and implementation
  • Serve as a content or team lead on projects, providing guidance and oversight to internal teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field with 5–8 years of experience in math assessment or education, or Master’s degree with 3–6 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. K–12 education standards and assessment systems
  • Proven experience in test development, item writing, or curriculum-aligned assessment design
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and conceptual thinking ability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently when needed
  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills, especially in educator-facing meetings and review sessions
  • Willingness to travel 1–8 weeks per year for project-related meetings and workshops
Benefits:
  • Remote work within the United States
  • Opportunity to influence large-scale educational assessments used nationwide
  • Collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on improving student outcomes
  • Engagement in research-based, innovative assessment development practices
  • Professional exposure to educators, psychometric experts, and state-level stakeholders
  • Travel opportunities for workshops, validation sessions, and standard-setting meetings
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and education
