Senior Director Digital Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director Digital Marketing based in the United States.

As a Senior Director Digital Marketing, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of large-scale digital marketing initiatives that drive audience engagement, brand growth, and business performance across multiple digital channels. This executive-level role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, overseeing content strategy, website experience, marketing technology, SEO, social media, email marketing, and analytics. You will work in a highly visible environment, partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to shape digital transformation efforts and deliver measurable outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide marketing priorities, leverage emerging technologies including AI, and build high-performing digital ecosystems. Accountabilities
  • Define and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with organizational growth, engagement, and brand objectives.
  • Lead multiple digital marketing functions, including content growth, website management, SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, marketing technology, and web development.
  • Oversee the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of digital platforms to enhance user experience, engagement, and conversion performance.
  • Drive audience acquisition and growth through integrated content marketing strategies and performance-focused digital campaigns.
  • Manage digital technology platforms and website infrastructure, ensuring scalability, effectiveness, and alignment with business goals.
  • Analyze customer behavior, market trends, competitive landscapes, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives to measure the success of digital initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to develop tailored digital marketing plans and support organizational priorities.
  • Lead agency relationships, vendor partnerships, and cross-functional digital projects from conception through execution.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing digital marketing teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, digital trends, and AI-driven marketing capabilities to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and strategic planning for digital marketing initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of digital marketing experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong expertise across digital marketing disciplines, including content strategy, SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, user experience, web development, and marketing technology platforms.
  • Proven success leading digital transformation initiatives, large-scale website projects, CMS migrations, or complex multi-site digital environments.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience leveraging web analytics, marketing automation tools, and performance data to drive decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale content ecosystems that support audience growth and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of how content, search, social media, email, video, and digital channels work together within an integrated marketing strategy.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with experience managing multiple initiatives and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience within healthcare or other highly regulated industries is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with publishing, digital audience development, and digital monetization models is a plus.
