At Pacific Smoke International, our mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As the leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, we've made significant progress since our founding in 2013. Overview:

We are seeking an AI Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement AI-powered automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and decision-making across the organization.

This role will focus on building AI agents, integrating large language models (LLMs), and automating business workflows by connecting AI technologies with existing enterprise systems such as ERP platforms, integration tools, and internal applications.

The ideal candidate combines software engineering, AI application development, and process automation expertise to transform business workflows through intelligent automation.

Key Responsibilities:

AI Agent Development

    Design and implement AI agents to automate operational and knowledge-based tasks.Integrate large language models (LLMs) into internal tools and workflows.Build conversational and task-oriented AI assistants for internal teams.

Workflow Automation

    Identify opportunities to automate business processes using AI and workflow automation tools.Develop automation pipelines that connect AI agents with enterprise systems.Improve operational efficiency through intelligent automation and decision-support systems.

System Integration

    Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise platforms such as:ERP systemsCRM systemslogistics platformsdata warehouses
Develop and maintain API-based integrations between AI services and business systems.

Data & Knowledge Integration

    Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions to enable AI agents to access internal knowledge bases.Manage structured and unstructured data sources used by AI applications.Build vector databases or knowledge repositories for AI search and reasoning.

Automation Framework Development

    Design scalable AI automation frameworks and reusable components.Build internal tools that allow teams to deploy AI-powered workflows efficiently.Ensure automation solutions are reliable, secure, and maintainable.

Collaboration

    Work closely with product teams, operations teams, and leadership to identify high-value AI use cases.Provide technical guidance on AI capabilities and limitations.Contribute to AI strategy and roadmap development.

Qualifications:

    5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience2+ years of experience implementing automation or workflow solutions1–2 years of practical experience working with AI/LLM technologies such as OpenAI, LangChain, or similar frameworksExperience building API integrations between multiple systemsExperience designing automation pipelines or intelligent workflows

Technical Skills

Programming

    Strong proficiency in Python or Node.jsExperience building API-driven services and integrations

AI / LLM Technologies

    Experience working with:OpenAI / Anthropic APIsLangChain or LlamaIndexPrompt engineeringRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

Data & Knowledge Systems

    Experience with:SQL and data pipelinesvector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, etc.)document retrieval systems

Cloud & Infrastructure

Experience with at least one cloud platform:

    AzureAWSGoogle Cloud

Knowledge of:

    containerization (Docker)serverless architecturescalable microservices

Success Measures:

Success in this role will be measured by:
