Job Description
Primary PurposeThe MEP Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the installation of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Fire Protection, and other building systems throughout the construction lifecycle. This role works closely with project teams, design professionals, owners, and trade partners to ensure all building systems are fully coordinated, installed in accordance with contract documents, and delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role is especially critical on complex commercial and mission-critical projects where coordination between multiple building systems is essential.TravelTravel is required – up to 90%. 90% is required due to assignment being on site/physical location, living in temporary housing. Onsite is Monday - Friday with occasional off hours work, nights and weekends as needed.Current Project Locations: We are actively hiring for projects located in Dallas, TX. Project assignments are based on business needs and candidate preference, when possible.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead coordination meetings with MEP subcontractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.Review construction documents, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for constructability, completeness, and coordination.Manage Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination efforts using software such as Navisworks, Revit, and other coordination platforms to identify and resolve system conflicts prior to installation.Coordinate the sequencing and installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty systems with the overall project schedule.Ensure MEP installations comply with project specifications, building codes, applicable regulations, and quality standards.Monitor procurement, fabrication, and delivery of major MEP equipment, including HVAC equipment, generators, switchgear, transformers, pumps, chillers, electrical distribution equipment, and other long-lead items.Support the preparation and review of Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and design clarifications related to MEP systems.Conduct field inspections to verify installations conform to approved drawings, specifications, quality expectations, and safety requirements.Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to proactively resolve field coordination issues while minimizing schedule impacts and project costs.Coordinate testing, startup, commissioning, Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB), integrated systems testing, and owner acceptance activities.Assist with project closeout by coordinating Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, warranties, as-built documentation, owner training, and turnover packages.Maintain accurate documentation related to coordination meetings, issue logs, action items, and system completion status.Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to successful project execution through proactive communication and collaboration.Coordinate multidisciplinary building systems across multiple specialty trades.Manage procurement and coordination of long-lead critical infrastructure equipment.Support temporary utility planning and implementation.Assist with energization planning and phased system startup activities.Coordinate integrated systems testing (IST) and commissioning schedules.Work closely with commissioning agents, owner's representatives, vendors, and trade partners to ensure operational readiness.Support turnover planning and documentation for phased or multi-stage project completion.Other duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Constructiv is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary for this role is $115,000.00 - $135,000.00. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
