Job Description
The Logistics Associate is responsible for supporting the efficient movement of inventory, products, and shipments across multiple company locations. This role oversees inbound and outbound shipping and receiving activities, coordinates inventory transfers, maintains organized warehouse environments, and helps ensure timely fulfillment of operational needs.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Associate partners with Procurement, Product, Breaking, Operations, Customer Experience, and external vendors to maintain inventory accuracy, optimize logistics processes, and support WeTheHobby's fast-paced business operations. This role may support additional operational initiatives and responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
Shipping & Receiving
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and completeness.Coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, invoicing, and shipping documentation, including international shipments.Coordinate inventory transfers between company facilities based on operational needs.Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.Maintain clean, organized, and efficient shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas.Assist with inventory counts, audits, reconciliations, and stock organization.Identify opportunities to improve shipping, receiving, and logistics processes and recommend solutions to the Logistics Manager.Logistics & Inventory Coordination
Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers, freight providers, and vendors. Track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.Monitor shipping and receiving metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.Safely operate company vehicles, including a cargo/sprinter van, to transport inventory and materials between company facilities as needed.Support inventory movement and replenishment activities to meet operational priorities.Quality & Inventory Control
Perform quality inspections on incoming products and outgoing shipments.
Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, damaged merchandise, and inventory issues. Ensure inventory is stored, handled, and transported safely and accurately. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and inventory accuracy. Support purchasing and inventory administration through accurate purchase order creation, sales order entry, and related system updates.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Procurement, Product, Breaking, Operations, Customer Experience, and other departments to coordinate inventory movement, shipping priorities, and operational needs. Communicate professionally with vendors, freight carriers, customers, and business partners. Provide regular updates to the Logistics Manager regarding shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics performance. Support cross-functional operational initiatives and assist other departments as business needs require.Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, inventory, or distribution operations. Experience using shipping software and standard computer applications. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing business needs. Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. Valid driver's license with the ability to meet Company motor vehicle standards, including successful completion of annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviews.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software. Experience using ShipStation, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar shipping platforms. Experience with international shipping, customs documentation, and Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings. Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Interest in sports and knowledge of the sports card hobby is a plus.Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular physical activity and movement between office, shipping, receiving, storage, and warehouse environments. The employee must be able to:
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and twist while handling inventory, shipments, and equipment. Regularly lift, carry, move, and position boxes, shipping materials, and products weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Occasionally move heavier items using appropriate equipment or team assistance. Load, unload, organize, and transport inventory throughout office, shipping, receiving, storage, and warehouse areas. Operate pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, scanners, and other material handling equipment as needed. Safely operate a company vehicle, including a cargo/sprinter van, to transport inventory and materials between company locations. Work in a variety of environments, including office spaces, shipping and receiving areas, loading docks, and warehouse settings, with varying temperatures, moderate noise levels, and frequent movement of people and equipment.Compensation & Schedule
Full-time, 40hours/week. Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 8:30am – 5pmHourly Rate: starting $23 - $25 based upon experienceTo comply with Federal law, WeTheHobby participates in E-Verify.
