Azure Security Lead in India at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Azure Security Lead based in India.

This is a remote leadership-level opportunity for an experienced cloud security professional specializing in Microsoft Azure. You will play a key role in securing cloud infrastructure, applications, identities, networks, and workloads across complex Azure environments. The position combines security architecture, governance, monitoring, automation, and risk management with hands-on technical implementation. You will collaborate closely with cloud architects, DevOps, engineering, and operations teams to embed security throughout the cloud lifecycle. Your work will help strengthen resilience, improve security visibility, and protect critical cloud environments against evolving threats. The role also offers the opportunity to influence security standards, mentor teams, and drive cloud security maturity at scale.

• Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps, application development, and operations teams to identify security risks and deliver effective solutions for Azure security initiatives.
• Define, document, implement, and continuously improve security controls across Azure cloud services, workloads, and environments.
• Establish and maintain cloud security monitoring and governance using Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Design and implement Azure Policy definitions, initiatives, and governance frameworks aligned with the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
• Develop and maintain security governance practices across Azure environments, including policy compliance, configuration standards, and risk controls.
• Design and strengthen Azure identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, workload identities, service principals, and related security controls.
• Implement and maintain Azure network security controls, including Network Security Groups, Application Security Groups, Azure Firewall, Azure Front Door, and virtual network security.
• Support secure implementation of Azure Landing Zones and broader cloud adoption initiatives.
• Develop automation and process improvements that increase the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of cloud security operations.
• Implement security validation within Infrastructure as Code workflows using technologies such as Bicep, ARM Templates, or Terraform.
• Support security information and event management and automated response capabilities using Microsoft Sentinel and related Azure services.
• Contribute to hybrid and multi-cloud security governance using Azure Arc and related technologies.
• Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs to help engineering and operational teams adopt Azure security best practices.
• Evaluate evolving Azure security capabilities and recommend improvements to architecture, governance, monitoring, compliance, and risk management.
• Communicate security risks, recommendations, and technical requirements effectively to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

• 6+ years of professional experience across information security domains such as threat modeling, secure coding, DevOps security, network security, or related areas.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud security, with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security services and technologies, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Policy, Azure Bastion, Azure Key Vault, CrowdStrike, and Wiz.
• Strong understanding of Azure network security, including NSGs, ASGs, Azure Firewall, virtual network security, and related controls.
• Hands-on experience with Azure identity and access management, including workload identities and service principals.
• Expertise with Azure Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Landing Zones is strongly preferred.
• Experience implementing governance through Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, and policy-as-code approaches.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Sentinel for SIEM, SOAR, security monitoring, and incident response workflows.
• Familiarity with Azure-native tools and services such as Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Arc.
• Experience securing Infrastructure as Code implementations using Bicep, ARM Templates, Terraform, or comparable technologies.
• Understanding of Azure compliance capabilities and regulatory frameworks, including Azure Compliance Manager and policy compliance assessments.
• Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud security environments and governance across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or comparable cloud security certifications are advantageous.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence security practices across teams.
• Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale Azure programs, preferably within complex or globally distributed organizations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-management skills, with the ability to balance security requirements against business and operational needs.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across distributed teams.
