This role sits at the intersection of engineering leadership, data-driven fraud prevention, and large-scale financial systems. You will lead high-performing engineering teams focused on designing and evolving fraud detection and prevention capabilities that protect millions of users and transactions. The position requires balancing technical depth with strong leadership, as you guide architecture decisions, team execution, and cross-functional alignment. You will play a key role in shaping the technical vision for fraud systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance in a fast-paced fintech environment. Collaboration with Product, Data, and Business stakeholders is central to translating risk challenges into effective engineering solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role where your decisions directly influence platform trust, user safety, and business growth. Accountabilities

You will be responsible for leading engineering teams and driving the technical strategy behind fraud detection systems at scale.

  • Lead multiple engineering teams, defining goals, priorities, and delivery expectations aligned with business strategy.
  • Own the technical vision for fraud prevention systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
  • Guide the development of fraud detection models, systems, and infrastructure supporting real-time decisioning.
  • Drive hiring, mentoring, and career development of engineers and technical leaders.
  • Establish engineering excellence practices including CI/CD, observability, testing, and code quality standards.
  • Define and track KPIs and OKRs to measure engineering performance and business impact.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Business teams to align roadmaps and priorities.
  • Oversee architecture decisions, ensuring sound trade-offs between performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Manage engineering capacity, budgets, and infrastructure investments.
  • Foster a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.
Requirements

You bring strong engineering leadership experience combined with deep technical expertise in distributed systems and fraud or financial domains.

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in product-driven or fintech environments.
  • Strong backend development background (Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS).
  • Experience with scalable architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of fraud prevention, payments, credit, or other financial domains.
  • Hands-on knowledge of agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Experience defining KPIs, OKRs, and driving data-informed engineering decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple squads, priorities, and technical roadmaps simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices is a plus.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers and technical leaders.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to operate across strategic planning and hands-on technical discussions when needed.
