Position Summary

Prepares both hot and cold food for patients, employees and visitors.

Job Responsibilities

• Adheres to standardized recipes.
• Produces quantities according to department needs in a timely manner.
• Suggest ideas to maximize the use of leftovers in a cost effective manner.
• Working knowledge of equipment and utensils.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and utensils and reports equipment in need to repair.
• Follows standards of regulatory agencies.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment making sure that sanitizer is at the proper strength.
• Follows temperature and infection control standards of the department.
• Communicates with supervisor and staff to complete assigned task.
• Completes records accurately and thoroughly and in a timely manner.
• Assists with training of co-workers adhering to department procedures.
• Documents progress of employees and provides feedback.

Education/Experience

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Preferred 2 years’ experience in food preparation and/or volume feeding operations preferably in health care setting.
