Job Title: Water Spider - 1st Shift

Job Description:

The Water Spider keeps production running smoothly by ensuring operators have the right materials, in the right quantity, at the right time. This role follows a structured route to replenish point-of-use inventory, stage and kit parts, and remove finished goods and waste from work areas so operators can stay focused on building quality product. The Water Spider partners closely with Team Leads, Supervisors, and the Materials team to prevent line stoppages and support a safe, organized, Lean work environment.

In this role you will:

  • Keep production lines continuously supplied by delivering components, hardware, and materials to assigned workstations on a set route and schedule.
  • Monitor point-of-use inventory, kanban bins, and supermarket locations to anticipate needs and replenish before shortages occur.
  • Pick, stage, and kit parts according to work orders, pick lists, and build schedules.
  • Remove finished goods, empty containers, scrap, and packaging from work areas to keep operators focused on value-added work.
  • Communicate material shortages, damaged parts, and discrepancies promptly to Team Leads, Supervisors, and the Materials team.
  • Accurately complete material transactions in Epicor, including issues, moves, and cycle count support, to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks, carts, and forklifts (once certified) to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Support 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement efforts by maintaining organized, labeled, and clean material locations and suggesting route or process improvements.
  • Assist operators with basic non-production tasks as needed to keep the line moving.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret pick lists, work orders, part numbers, and labels.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with an ERP system (Epicor preferred).
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts, or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching required throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must adhere to all PPE requirements to perform the job safely, including but not limited to eye, hand, feet, and hearing protection.

Skills:

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to anticipate needs before they become problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with part numbers and quantities.
  • Clear, proactive communication with operators, leads, and the Materials team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean concepts such as kanban, supermarkets, and 5S.
  • Perform simple mathematics to count, verify, and record material quantities.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.

1st Shift: M-T 5am - 3:30pm
