As a Senior AmeriCorps Program Manager, you will lead the development and execution of national strategies designed to enhance volunteer engagement, strengthen alumni connections, and improve the overall service experience across the AmeriCorps lifecycle. This highly collaborative leadership role combines program management, people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning to support impactful service initiatives nationwide. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, regional leaders, and external partners to build scalable programs that foster professional growth, community impact, and long-term engagement. - Design and implement national strategies to enhance AmeriCorps volunteer engagement throughout the entire service lifecycle, from recruitment through alumni engagement.
- Develop programs, initiatives, and resources that support volunteer development, recognition, mentorship, leadership growth, and post-service career pathways.
- Lead and expand alumni engagement efforts by building sustainable programs, cultivating partnerships, and creating opportunities for continued involvement and networking.
- Establish systems, metrics, and feedback mechanisms to evaluate volunteer and alumni experiences, using data to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with recruitment, human resources, regional leadership, and program teams to ensure consistent and high-quality volunteer support and engagement practices.
- Manage and mentor AmeriCorps Program Managers, providing coaching, leadership, and guidance on program execution, policy interpretation, and volunteer management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on AmeriCorps policies, regulations, and best practices while supporting compliance and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead the resolution of complex volunteer concerns, grievances, and investigations in partnership with HR and key stakeholders.
- Develop and facilitate trainings, communications, surveys, and engagement initiatives that strengthen volunteer satisfaction and organizational culture.
- Support national onboarding and offboarding efforts during peak service periods and advocate for volunteer needs across the organization.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing organizational strategies, managing complex projects, or leading engagement, communications, or program initiatives.
- At least 3 years of direct people management experience with a demonstrated ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
- AmeriCorps alumni status or extensive knowledge of AmeriCorps programs, structures, and volunteer engagement practices.
- Experience managing volunteer relations, employee relations, performance concerns, conflict resolution, grievances, or similar stakeholder support functions.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives and collaborate across diverse teams and locations.
- Proven ability to use data, feedback, and performance metrics to inform strategy and drive measurable outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing policies, guidance, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence internal and external partners in a remote environment.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and process improvement.

- Ability to travel occasionally within the United States (up to 10%).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience managing high-performing teams for more than 2 years.
- Knowledge of AmeriCorps grants, federal regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting multiple sites, regions, or geographically distributed teams.
- Familiarity with HR compliance practices, accommodations processes, or workforce policies.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $88,426 to $98,829, adjusted based on geographic location.
