Salary: $35.88 - $37.00 per hour

The incumbent is expected to work on the following: Y-maze Spontaneous Alteration test; Y-maze spatial memory test; Rotarod assessment of motor function; measurement of grip strength to determine skeletal muscle function.

Documented expertise in animal handling; assessment of memory, motor function, and skeletal muscle function; measurement of catecholamines using UPLC. Experienced in animal research.

1. The incumbent conducts Y-maze Spontaneous Alteration Test (SAT) and Y-maze memory test

2. The incumbent determines motor function using Rotarod.

3. The incumbent assesses skeletal muscle function using Grip strength measurement instrument

4. The incumbent measures catecholamines in brain samples as well as in plasma using UPLC.

5. The incumbent maintains the mouse breeding colony.

6. The incumbent treats mice with peptides and harvests tissues for western blots and immunohistochemical analyses

Doctoral degree (PhD/MD) in a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
