This executive leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the AI and data engineering vision that powers next-generation digital banking experiences. The position sits at the intersection of innovation, platform engineering, and product strategy, driving the adoption of Generative AI, agentic AI, and machine learning across enterprise-scale systems. You will lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of engineers and data scientists, defining the technical direction for scalable AI systems and data infrastructure. The role requires close collaboration with product, engineering, security, and compliance leaders to ensure AI solutions are both cutting-edge and production-ready in a regulated environment. You will also evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to maintain competitive advantage and accelerate delivery. This is a highly visible leadership role with significant influence on product innovation, technical architecture, and long-term platform strategy.
In this role, you will define, lead, and scale the organization’s AI and data engineering strategy while ensuring alignment with product and business objectives:
- Define and own the end-to-end AI and data strategy, including Generative AI, agentic AI, and machine learning initiatives.
- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams of engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists.
- Architect and oversee scalable data pipelines, ML systems, and AI infrastructure including LLM integration and RAG architectures.
- Drive adoption of emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices to improve product capabilities and accelerate innovation.
- Establish data governance, quality, observability, and compliance standards across all AI and data systems.
- Partner with product and engineering leaders to identify AI-driven opportunities and translate them into roadmap priorities.
- Engage cross-functionally with security, SRE, compliance, and external stakeholders to ensure robust, secure, and compliant AI solutions.
This role requires deep technical expertise in AI and data systems combined with proven executive leadership experience in fast-paced environments:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or machine learning, including at least 3+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience building and deploying production-grade AI systems, ideally including Generative AI and agentic AI applications.
- Strong expertise in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn, and LLM orchestration tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Hands-on experience designing scalable data architectures, pipelines, and modern AI infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, security, and privacy requirements in regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing technical teams in startup or scale-up environments.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear executive-level narratives.
