Description
The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty pool in Exercise Science. This posting will remain open for up to one year to build a pool of qualified candidates who may be considered for future teaching opportunities as departmental needs arise.
The Exercise Science program prepares students for careers and advanced study in exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, health promotion, rehabilitation, allied health professions, and related fields. We seek educators who are committed to student-centered teaching and helping students develop the scientific knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies necessary to promote health, fitness, performance, and wellbeing.
Assignments may include day or evening courses and are expected to be delivered on Husson University's Bangor campus.

Adjunct instructors in Exercise Science may be considered to teach courses in the following areas:

- Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease - Courses examining the role of physical activity, exercise, and lifestyle interventions in the prevention and management of chronic health conditions.
- Exercise Physiology - Courses exploring the physiological responses and adaptations to exercise, including cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic, and neuromuscular function.
- Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription - Courses focused on evaluating health-related fitness and designing individualized exercise programs for diverse populations.
- Health Promotion and Wellness - Courses examining strategies for improving health behaviors, wellness, and quality of life through physical activity and lifestyle interventions.
- Strength and Conditioning - Courses addressing evidence-based approaches to athletic performance enhancement, program design, and training methodologies.
- Personal Fitness - Courses aligned with faculty expertise and departmental needs within exercise science and related disciplines.
Additional teaching opportunities may arise within the Exercise Science curriculum. Applicants are encouraged to indicate areas of expertise, teaching interests, certifications, and professional experience.
Qualifications
- An earned Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Health Sciences, or a closely related discipline is required.
- A PhD or other terminal degree in a related field is preferred. ABD candidates may be considered.
- Experience working in the health, fitness, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, or wellness fields is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ACSM, NSCA, NASM, or related credentials are desirable.
- Successful college-level teaching experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific and applied concepts effectively to undergraduate students.
- Commitment to providing engaging, inclusive, and student-centered instruction.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
- Ability to connect classroom learning with professional practice in exercise science and health promotion.

- Master's Prepared: $1,150.00 per credit hour
