This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Planning & Materials Supervisor based in the United States.
This role plays a key leadership function within the supply chain organization, ensuring production continuity through effective planning, materials management, and inventory optimization. You will lead a team of planners and buyers responsible for aligning material availability with production demand, while maintaining service levels, inventory targets, and supplier performance. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional partners including production, sourcing, quality, and engineering to resolve constraints and improve operational flow. You will also develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness across a large and complex supply base. A strong focus of the role is driving continuous improvement using data, structured problem-solving, and operational excellence methodologies. This is a highly impactful position where your leadership directly supports manufacturing performance and product availability in a regulated environment.
- Lead and supervise a team of Buyers and Planners to ensure material availability aligns with production demand and takt requirements
- Oversee end-to-end planning and materials processes, ensuring inventory optimization and on-time delivery performance
- Manage relationships with a broad supplier base to ensure adherence to demand, quality, and delivery expectations
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Strategic Sourcing teams to resolve supply constraints and improve operational flow
- Monitor and report key performance indicators including inventory levels, on-time delivery, product availability, and employee engagement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving and operational excellence methodologies
- Support S&OP (PSI) processes to align supply, demand, and inventory planning across the organization
- Mentor, train, and develop team members to strengthen capability and performance within the planning function
- High school diploma with 10+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, or Master’s degree with 3+ years, or Doctorate with 0–2 years in a relevant field
- 4+ years of experience in materials planning, supply chain execution, or production planning within a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in regulated manufacturing environments with proven ability to deliver measurable operational results
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle ERP and Oracle Cloud platforms
- Solid understanding of S&OP (PSI) processes and end-to-end supply chain planning
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a data-driven mindset
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- ASCM certification and experience with advanced planning tools are a plus
