Cybersecurity Associate
The Cybersecurity Associate is an entry-level, early-career role designed for individuals beginning their professional journey in cybersecurity. This position is training-focused and execution-oriented, providing hands-on exposure to security operations, assessments, and consulting activities under close supervision. The role supports internal security operations and client-facing engagements while developing foundational technical, analytical, and professional skills.
This position does not carry independent decision-making authority. Work is performed under the guidance of senior consultants.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including:
- Networking fundamentals
- Operating systems (Windows and Linux)
- Common attack types and defensive controls
- Familiarity with security tools or concepts such as vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, IDS/IPS, or endpoint security
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in computer science or information systems
- Experience with Windows, UNIX and/or Linux operating systems.
Desired but not Required
- Internship, lab, academic, or personal project experience in cybersecurity or IT
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus) or log analysis
- Basic scripting or programming familiarity (PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL)
- Entry-level cybersecurity certifications such as:
- CompTIA Security+
- Network+
- GIAC entry-level certifications
Career Progression

- Cybersecurity Consultant
- Senior Cybersecurity Consultant
Progression is based on demonstrated technical growth, professionalism, and the ability to perform tasks with reduced supervision.
