Position Description:

An "APP for Cardiology - Electrophysiology specialty" refers to an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), like a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), who has undergone specialized training in Cardiac Electrophysiology; meaning they focus on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm irregularities (arrhythmias) with expertise in procedures like ablation therapy and device management.

Key points about an Electrophysiology APP:

• Specialized training:

They complete additional training beyond their standard NP or PA curriculum to gain in-depth knowledge of cardiac electrical systems and arrhythmia management.

• Clinical practice:

They can perform patient evaluations, interpret complex ECGs, manage medications for arrhythmias, and assist with invasive procedures like ablation under the supervision of a cardiologist specializing in electrophysiology.

• Device management:

They may be involved in the management of implantable cardiac devices like pacemakers and defibrillators, including follow-up appointments and adjustments

Requirements:

• Education/Certification/Licensure
  • Current NY State certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and establish a leadership role in an emergency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches in area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.

Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 DOE
