Children's Theatre of Charlotte seeks an extremely confident, personable, reliable, and kind individual to serve as a part-time
House Manager is our front-line ambassador to every patron who walks through our doors and guide for our front of house staff and volunteers. As our House Manager, you'll take command of the front of house, making sure our audiences enjoy a safe, relaxed, and genuinely pleasant experience from the moment they arrive to the moment the curtain falls. You'll be the calm, capable presence who keeps the whole operation moving, collaborating and coordinating closely with Stage Managers, Volunteer Ushers, Security, and Library Staff to bring every front-of-house detail together seamlessly.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate volunteer ushers, setting the tone for warm, attentive service.
- Partner with the front of house team, Stage Managers to coordinate house open and curtain times.
- Serve as one of the go-to problem-solvers for anything that comes up — a lost ticket, a big school group running late, an unexpected hiccup — and handle it with grace.
- Ensure the theatre is safe, welcoming, and running smoothly for every patron, every time.
- Act as the face and voice of Children's Theatre of Charlotte for our audiences.
- Prepare all front of house reports.
House Managers are able to work a variety of shifts based on availability. Shifts are as follows:
Shows for School Audiences
Weekday mornings - 8:30 am - 2:00 pm (generally there are not shows on Mondays)
Public Shows
Fridays: 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Sundays: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Wage: $15.00 an hour
