Our Education team seeks full-time Senior Account Executive with 3-5 years of experience working within an agency, nonprofit, public policy or education-related field, supporting strategic communications, media relations, social media, marketing or advocacy efforts. FINN Partners provides a flexible working environment, with the option to be fully remote or hybrid within our U.S. offices. We prioritize candidates near our Washington D.C. and New York City offices but welcome all candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones.
The salary range for this role is $60,000-$65,000, dependent on candidate experience and qualifications. Candidates with direct education communications experience and interest are preferred.
The successful Senior Account Executive will be:
● Intellectually Curious: Work with teams which support organizations at the intersection of education, policy, philanthropy and business/workforce
● Detail Oriented: Support client accounts, with growing responsibility for project management and client engagement; create media reports and analyses, including in-depth analysis on key issues related to clients and the sector
● Strong Writer: Write compelling content based on primary research and produce strong marketing, social, and thought leadership content
● Media Savvy: Understand and follow media trends and reports to better develop and pitch story ideas that secure coverage across local, trade, and top-tier national media, including broadcast, podcasts, and print/digital
● Content Curator: Manage or oversee social, including social media content development, community engagement, and campaign management
Key responsibilities will include:
● Collaborating closely with account leads and clients
● Monitoring and pitching media across all levels and verticals relevant to education clients
● Researching key client issues and developing landscape and policy analysis, media insights, and thought leadership opportunities
● Drafting written materials such as press releases and advisories, contributed articles, briefing documents, etc.
● Providing monthly reporting to clients across activities, KPIs, and other aspects of scopes
● Maintaining project trackers, assembling agendas and action items, managing budgets and scopes of work
● General account support, including internal and client calls as required and other tasks as assigned
● Supporting the creation of new business proposals, as requested
Role Specific Skills/Attributes:
● A team player who is curious, trustworthy, friendly and eager to learn and grow with a great group of dedicated colleagues and top-tier clients
● Strong interest and basic understanding of US education system (early childhood, K-12, higher education) and global education issues and trends
● Strong writing and editing skills or experience writing for a variety of platforms, voices and tone; including proficiency with AP style as well as writing for social media
● Strong sense of accountability, deadline-driven and detail-oriented with ability to maintain self-management on projects and tasks, especially in remote environments
● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Prior experience with Slack, Zoom, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Canva, and other programs a plus
● Knowledge of and facility with appropriate and ethical use of AI tools, including Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, NotebookLLM, among others
● Deep knowledge of social media tools and platforms such as LinkedIn, X or Blue Sky, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, Substack
● Keen interest in a career in public relations, journalism, public affairs, or communications and marketing
Anticipated Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 annually (gross).
Note: salary is commensurate with experience and depending upon workplace.
