Job Description

IT Support Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IT Support Specialist based in Germany.

Join a remote-first technology environment where you will play a foundational role in building and improving internal IT support operations. As the first dedicated IT Support Specialist, you will take ownership of the support queue and become the trusted point of contact for employees across multiple teams and business units. You will provide hands-on assistance with workplace technologies, manage access and device processes, and contribute to improving IT efficiency through automation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced IT professionals while gradually expanding into process optimization and automation initiatives. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, helping users succeed, and creating scalable support solutions, this position provides meaningful ownership and growth potential.

Accountabilities
  • Own and manage the IT support queue from end to end, prioritizing and resolving daily requests related to Google Workspace, Mac devices, Chrome, VPN connectivity, remote desktop, and other workplace technologies.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support while identifying when issues can be resolved through automation versus when manual intervention is required.
  • Manage user access processes, permissions reviews, domain configurations, and security-related checks to support effective IT governance.
  • Coordinate laptop provisioning and onboarding logistics with external vendors to ensure employees receive the necessary equipment and support across different regions.
  • Maintain documentation and collect operational evidence required for security compliance initiatives, including access reviews, onboarding/offboarding records, and device inventories.
  • Support the technical onboarding of newly integrated teams or business units by coordinating access setup, tools configuration, and user enablement.
  • Collaborate with the wider IT team to improve workflows, implement automation solutions, and continuously enhance the employee support experience.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, service desk, or technical support roles with the ability to independently manage and prioritize ticket queues.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Google Workspace administration, including user management, access controls, permissions, and settings.
  • Strong experience supporting Mac users, including Chrome issues, VPN connectivity, operating system troubleshooting, and general workplace technology challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and collaborate with distributed teams across Europe.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, communicate clearly with users, and manage competing priorities during high-volume periods.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve productivity, troubleshoot issues, and optimize daily workflows.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to improving IT processes.
  • Experience with automation tools, security compliance processes such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, or IT asset management is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership in a foundational IT role.
  • Opportunity to grow into automation, process improvement, and broader IT operations responsibilities.
  • Flexible working approach focused on trust, efficiency, and sustainable productivity.
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture with opportunities for knowledge sharing.
  • Access to a global network of technology professionals and SaaS experts.
  • Flexible time off to support work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the growth of a diverse portfolio of technology-driven businesses.
