Job Summary – Practice Administrator
The Practice Administrator is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and administrative management of multiple outpatient medical practice locations supporting five or more providers. This leadership role ensures efficient practice operations, regulatory compliance, exceptional patient service, and achievement of organizational goals. The Practice Administrator oversees staff supervision, provider and employee onboarding, scheduling, budgeting, financial performance, patient satisfaction initiatives, and process improvement efforts while fostering a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork.
Working closely with physician leadership and the Senior Director of EMG Nursing and Surgical Services, the Practice Administrator directs daily practice activities, supports strategic planning, manages budgets and financial reporting, monitors operational metrics, and ensures compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. This position also plays a key role in workforce development, performance management, care team coordination, EMR operations, and revenue cycle support activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily operations across multiple outpatient practice locations.
- Supervise, train, develop, and evaluate clinical support and clerical staff.
- Coordinate provider and staff recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and staffing resources.
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, NYS Department of Health, OSHA, CMS, CLIA, and organizational standards.
- Develop, manage, and monitor practice budgets, financial performance, forecasts, and variance reports.
- Drive patient satisfaction, service excellence, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and implement improvement strategies.
- Support revenue cycle functions, including patient collections, billing information accuracy, payment processing, and reconciliation activities.
- Collaborate with physicians and leadership to establish effective, patient-centered care teams.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives, special projects, and system implementation efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
- 7–10 years of medical practice management experience, including at least 5 years of administrative or clinic management experience.
- MBA or related master's degree preferred.
- CMPE or FACMPE certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, budgeting, financial management, personnel administration, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), medical terminology, and office software applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, planning, and customer service skills.

Salary Range: $33.71-$50.56 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
