Join the team at Modern Love, the restaurant inside Fairlane Hotel, a 79-room independent boutique property in the heart of downtown Nashville, steps from Printer's Alley. We take pride in a team focused on craft, genuine hospitality, and an exceptional guest experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Food and Beverage Supervisor oversees day-to-day service operations at Modern Love, which operates from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily across cafe, bar, full-service dining, and room service.
The role leads the front-of-house team through all dayparts, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and covers barista, bar, and table service, working service directly while maintaining quality, service flow, and regulatory compliance. While centered on Modern Love, it may also oversee or assist banquets, events, and seasonal pop-ups as needed.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all shifts, from morning cafe service through dinner, ensuring smooth, professional service with strong communication across departments.
- Lead by example by taking guest orders, running food and drinks, making espresso and coffee beverages, and jumping into barista, bar, or table service wherever assistance is needed.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to set expectations and tone, communicating noteworthy changes, memos, and in-the-moment notes.
- Maintain open communication and professional relationships with the team to enable collaboration and operational troubleshooting.
Guest Experience:
- Ensure guest satisfaction across cafe, bar, and dining service throughout the day.
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring positive resolutions and maintaining brand standards.
Training & Standards:
- Support the training and onboarding of front-of-house associates across barista, bar, and service stations.
- Reinforce service, presentation, and responsible-alcohol-service standards across all dayparts.
- Ensure the team follows opening, closing, and side-work checklists and Fairlane Hotel service procedures.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and alcohol service.
- Conduct daily inspections of workspaces and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Evaluate cafe, bar, and restaurant equipment periodically for repairs and maintenance; report as needed.
Operations & Administration:
- Manage and monitor inventory needs across cafe, bar, and dining.
- Maintain accurate sales records and track cash receipts.
- Input all tips into the tip sheet promptly and correctly after shifts.
- Submit end-of-shift notes promptly and with necessary detail; perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food and beverage operations; 1+ years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Experience across multiple service styles (cafe/barista, bar, and full-service dining) or the ability to learn and supervise all three.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in servant leadership and teamwork.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, responsible alcohol service, and restaurant compliance guidelines.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA and willing to undergo a background check.
Preferred:
- Prior supervisory experience in an upscale, boutique, or hotel food and beverage setting.
- Barista or specialty-coffee experience and craft bar experience.
- Experience supporting banquets, events, or seasonal pop-ups.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
- Be available for opening and closing shifts covering the 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM operation, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Oversee or assist banquets and events, seasonal pop-ups, or other outlets beyond Modern Love as needed.
