Job Description: A Respiratory Care Assistant who provides diagnostic and therapeutic care to cardiac and pulmonary patients.
Qualifications:
An Enrolled student in good standing of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program. The educational institution will verify that the student is in good standing and has successfully completed a competency evaluation that certifies the student to be competent in Respiratory Care Procedures as defined by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board.
- Over 1 year active student in a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program2nd year Respiratory student (senior)Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationActive licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire (RCA)Current Basic Life Support (BLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of employment and maintainedAdvance Life Support Certification (ACLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 12 months of Employment and Maintained
To remain in good standing with the State Board and to continue as a Respiratory Care Assistant, a minimum grade of at least 2.0 in all RCP courses, and an overall average of 2.0 must be maintained. The educational institution also will verify that the student has successfully completed a competency evaluation that certifies the student to be competent in the following Respiratory Care Procedures:

Experience: No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within 3 months.
