Unique Skills:

This position is based in Brunswick, Georgia, supporting Special Missions operations, and reports directly to the RS Qual Mgr. The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong computer proficiency and the ability to effectively utilize business, quality, maintenance, and regulatory software applications.

  • Possess expert knowledge of aircraft inspection, maintenance, alteration, and return-to-service procedures across a variety of aircraft models and systems.

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of applicable technical reference materials, including maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering data, service bulletins, and regulatory guidance documents.

  • Be proficient in blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation, shop mathematics, inspection techniques, and Quality Control (QC) procedures.

  • Possess expert knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) principles, systems, methodologies, and continuous improvement processes used within an FAA-certificated Repair Station environment.

  • Demonstrate the ability to apply sound regulatory and technical judgment when evaluating airworthiness, conformity, maintenance compliance, and certification requirements.

  • Possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with FAA representatives, customers, engineering personnel, production teams, and maintenance organizations.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Education and Experience Requirements

    High School Diploma or GED required. 10 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 4 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience and 4 years of aircraft inspection experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

    Position Purpose:

    Lead and coordinate the inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required. documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral leader of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance to FAA/CAA requirements.

    Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components .
  • Directs and coordinates inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data .
  • Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting .
  • Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components .
  • Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner .
  • Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service .
  • Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities .
  • Mentors technicians on effective documentation .
  • Additional Functions:

  • Communicates with management as required. to identify work assignments and delivery schedules .
  • Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements .
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Other Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Expert Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Expert Knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures.
  • Expert knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
