Position SummaryThe Industrial Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of industrial production equipment, with secondary responsibility for facility and building upkeep. These tasks include industrial machine troubleshooting and repair, contractor coordination, spare parts inventory management, basic electrical repairs, and maintenance of forklifts, lighting, and sprinkler systems to ensure operational efficiency. An understanding of machine electrical components, including PLCs, electrical wiring, and various switches is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Focus: Equipment & Machinery Maintenance
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical failures on fabrication equipment and production lines to minimize downtime.
Maintain and repair forklifts, scissor lifts, and sky tracks.
Execute and enhance our preventative maintenance program.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area in compliance with 5S and OSHA safety standards.
Secondary Focus: Facility & Building Upkeep
Perform minor building repairs, such as basic carpentry, patch-and-paint, overhead door adjustments, etc.,
Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers and lighted emergency exit signs.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for specialized third-party contractors (e.g., HVAC, heavy electrical, commercial plumbing).
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Proven experience in equipment troubleshooting and facility repair and maintenance.
Understand, troubleshoot, and repair machine electrical components, including PLCs, VFDs, motors, electrical wiring, and mechanical components.
Understand, troubleshoot, and repair machine mechanical components, including chain and belt drives, bearings, seals and gaskets, and various mechanical components.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance planning and implementation.
Strong computer skills and excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to be proactive and prioritize maintenance requests effectively.
Ability to keep a detailed, daily work log of all tasks performed.
Physical requirements: Ability to push/lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, or crouching.
Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or certified technical training.
Preferred: Experience developing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
