Parts Front Counterperson
Summary
The Parts Front Counter Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the dealership's Parts Department. This customer-facing role includes assisting customers in person and by phone, processing parts sales, maintaining inventory, merchandising products, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, knowledgeable about automotive parts, and committed to delivering outstanding service that contributes to the department's safety, efficiency, and profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Maintain proper training for parts position.
· Receive and fill telephone orders.
· Fill customer orders from stock.
· Bill sales slips properly.
· Receive proper payment.
· Examine return parts for defects and process.
· Keep working area clean and organized.
· Assist in annual inventories.
· Store parts in proper locations in warehouse.
· Place new merchandise on display.
· Maintain a good working relationship with outside vendors.
· Turn in daily paperwork.
· Contribute to a culture of teamwork and camaraderie.
· Maintain lost sales records.
Requirements:Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum of one (1) year of automotive parts experience preferred.
· Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management software.
· High school diploma or GED
· 4 years clear driving record- No previous DUI history or moving violations
· No prior criminal history
· High level of dependability and organization

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is non-exempt and has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
Parts employees will usually work 50-60 hours per week on a rotation between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. including weekends and holidays. Most time is spent in the warehouse or parts counter but also includes working outside on the lot in all weather conditions. Competition against peers and other dealerships is a common practice as well as expectation to meet aggressive sales goals assigned by the dealer.
Physical Demands
May sit, walk or stand for long periods of time in all weather and temperature conditions. Repetitive use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, reaching, grasping, hearing, seeing and talking. Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs.
Travel
This position requires minimal extended travel beyond test drive and delivery areas.
Valid driver's license is required, and all applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
