Job Description

Position Summary

The Tracking & Tracing Specialist is responsible for providing end-to-end visibility and proactive management of cross-border shipments between Mexico, the United States, and Canada. This position monitors freight movement, identifies potential service disruptions, communicates shipment status updates to customers and internal stakeholders, and ensures timely resolution of transportation exceptions. The role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and service reliability within a fast-paced 3PL environment.

Key Responsibilities

Shipment Monitoring & Visibility

  • Monitor cross-border shipments from pickup through final delivery utilizing TMS, carrier portals, GPS tracking systems, and ELD platforms.
  • Track shipment milestones and ensure accurate status updates are maintained in company systems.
  • Verify pickups, border crossings, transfers, and deliveries are completed according to customer requirements.
  • Maintain real-time shipment visibility and provide proactive updates to customers and internal teams.

Exception Management

  • Identify and investigate shipment delays, detention, route deviations, missed appointments, and border-related issues.
  • Take immediate corrective action by coordinating with carriers, brokers, warehouses, and customers.
  • Escalate high-risk shipments and service failures according to established procedures.
  • Document all exceptions, root causes, and corrective actions.

Cross-Border Coordination

  • Work closely with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, drayage providers, and customers to facilitate seamless border crossings.
  • Monitor customs clearance status and communicate documentation issues that may impact transit times.
  • Support compliance with customer-specific cross-border requirements and service expectations.
  • Coordinate handoffs between U.S. and Mexico carriers when applicable.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Provide accurate and timely shipment status updates through email, phone, and customer portals.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding shipment location, ETA updates, and delivery confirmations.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while managing critical situations.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers and transportation partners.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, tracking & tracing, customer service, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with cross-border freight operations between Mexico and the United States preferred.
  • Experience working in a 3PL environment strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Starting salary of $22,000 MXN per month.
  • In Office Position in San Pedro area of Monterrey
  • Tuesday through Friday: 6pm to 2am, Saturday/Sunday: 9am to 5pm
  • Fast-paced logistics and transportation environment.
  • Frequent interaction with carriers, customers, customs brokers, and internal operations teams.
