A Chassis Diagnostic Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues related to the chassis systems of recreational vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, braking, steering, and related components. The Chassis Diagnostic Technician requires advanced diagnostic skills and the ability to accurately identify root causes of vehicle performance concerns.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and efficient comprehensive diagnostics on chassis systems including engine, drivetrain, suspension, steering, and braking systems
• Utilize diagnostic tools, scan tools, and software to identify faults and error codes
• Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer bulletins
• Accurately determine root cause of mechanical and electrical failures
• Document diagnostic procedures, findings, and recommended repairs clearly and thoroughly
• Communicate findings with service advisors and management
• Perform necessary repairs or coordinate with appropriate technicians
• Conduct road tests to verify concerns and confirm repairs
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer standards and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Experience in automotive, diesel, or RV chassis diagnostics
• Strong understanding of gasoline and/or diesel engine systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and troubleshooting equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and service manuals
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong teamwork and communication with service department staff
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to operate large vehicles (Class A/B RV experience preferred)
• Experience with RV chassis platforms (Ford, Freightliner, Spartan, ect.) preferred
• OEM training or certifications preferred
