Working closely with Product, Design, QA, and Analytics, you will help translate technical solutions into compelling gameplay experiences. The position is well suited to an engineer who enjoys broad ownership, collaborative development, and the challenge of supporting continuously evolving live games.

Accountabilities
  • Support the technical roadmap for full-stack gaming initiatives, contributing to scalable, high-performance architectures and sustainable technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain features across backend services and Unity game clients, bridging Python/Django systems with C# game development requirements.
  • Contribute to live-operations activities, including incident management, reliability improvements, service maintenance, and operational issue resolution.
  • Design and implement player-facing functionality across areas such as progression, social features, live events, and monetization.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements, resolve technical challenges, and deliver high-quality features.
  • Participate hands-on in feature development across client and server codebases while maintaining strong standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Identify technical debt, operational bottlenecks, and system-performance issues, then contribute to solutions that improve reliability and team velocity.
  • Support scalable system design and contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions.
  • Work with data-driven content pipelines, serialization workflows, and performance optimization processes to support efficient game development and operation.
  • Help balance new feature delivery with long-term system health, reliability, and maintainability.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, ideally within gaming or large-scale live-service applications.
  • Strong backend engineering experience with Python and Django.
  • Hands-on production experience developing with Unity and C#.
  • Understanding of how backend services and Unity clients interact within live game architectures.
  • Experience contributing to scalable systems and supporting production operations for live services.
  • Familiarity with AWS, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with data-driven content pipelines, performance optimization, and serialization technologies such as FlatBuffers or JSON.
  • Understanding of player-facing game systems such as progression, social features, live events, or monetization.
  • Experience balancing feature development with technical debt, operational reliability, and overall system health.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and pragmatic approach to solving technical problems.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for technical outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional proficiency in English; resumes/CVs submitted for consideration should be written in English.
Benefits
  • Remote work opportunity for candidates based in Canada.
  • Opportunity to work on a major live-service mobile and PC gaming experience with an established global player community.
  • Broad technical exposure across Python/Django, Unity/C#, cloud infrastructure, live operations, and data-driven game systems.
  • Collaborative environment working alongside Product, Design, QA, Analytics, and engineering teams.
  • Opportunity to contribute to player-facing features and technical initiatives with significant impact on the game experience.
  • Hands-on involvement in both feature development and the ongoing optimization and reliability of live systems.
  • Opportunity to grow technical ownership and leadership within a global gaming environment.
  • Full-time employment with opportunities to contribute to a high-profile gaming portfolio.
