Location & commitments
Full Time role based at our Greenville (other) location, Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Shared call duties required.
Supervision Received: Reports to Department Physicians, area manager(s) and Chief Operating Officer.
Supervision Exercised: None.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.

About the role
Our growing private Hematology and Oncology practice is seeking a compassionate, highly skilled, and patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multidisciplinary cancer care team. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians to provide comprehensive care for patients with malignant and benign disorders throughout the continuum of treatment.
This position includes professional medical care for outpatient clinic patients following established standards and practices, including on-site infusion center, symptom management, chemotherapy and immunotherapy clearance visits, and participation in a shared call rotation. The APP will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based oncology care while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
Responsibilities
- Assist with consults, new patients and daily visits.
- Assist with chemotherapy orders.
- Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients. Reviews patient records. Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
- Establishes presumptive diagnosis.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Performs independent evaluations and treatment.
- Administers injections, immunizations, and oral medications.
- Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
- Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Utilizes practice/hospital guidelines and standardized procedures in collaboration with the supervising physician(s) in providing medical care to patients.
Candidate requirements
- Licensed as a PA-C or NP in the state of North Carolina and DEA license
- Must be able to work independently (under indirect supervision).
- Have at least three years of post-graduate experience as a provider in related setting.
- Must have experience and knowledge of an EMR system, voice dictation (Dragon) and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Can use strong clinical judgment to determine when a supervising physician should be consulted.
- Flexible and adaptable with a focus on not turning any patient away before exhausting all reasonable options.
- Value working in a team-oriented, patient-centric culture.
The ideal candidate will also:
- Be confident in clinical decision-making and autonomous in providing care to patients in a fast-paced clinical practice setting.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proactive in discussing case management.
- Possess excellent time management and have ability to work well with patients and their families, collaborating/supervising physicians, facility staff and leadership.
- Display a professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families, maintaining strict confidentiality in all times.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of team commitment, which includes meeting deadlines, punctuality and excellent follow-through and feedback.
