Job Description
Overview of position:
The Spanish Immersion Teacher’s Assistant supports the academic growth of students by supporting comprehensive classroom management, implementing effective engagement strategies, and building authentic teacher/student relationships. This role is responsible for helping the lead teacher maintain a supportive, inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
The Spanish Immersion TA is a contributing member of the Spanish Immersion Program and works closely with campus principals, instructional leaders and teachers, parents/families, and students to ensure measurable positive student outcomes.

The anticipated start date for this position is 08/04/2026, however, an earlier start date may be considered.
The selected candidate will report to the Whiteman Assistant Principal.
Pay and Benefits:
- Employees at DLS are compensated in accordance with other Denver-area charter schools. The annual salary of $34,222 - $35,843.
- 8 days of PTO with an option to roll days to the following school year. PTO will be prorated to reflect a mid-year start.

Essential Functions and Objectives
- Understanding of K-5 literacy and math skills
- Ability to assist lead teachers with centers, one-on-one or small group interventions, help administer assessments, and track student data in a language immersion setting.
- Can build authentic teacher/student relationships
- Consistently implements effective engagement strategies
- Able to collaborate with the lead teacher to prepare classroom materials, complete minor grading, and assist with learning platforms.
- Able to assist the lead teacher with meeting all student’s behavioral and social emotional needs while students are in the classroom through Restorative Practices, social emotional skill building, conflict resolution strategies, etc.
- Additional tasks and/or assignments to further the mission and vision of the school, as assigned.

Requirements:Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a K-6 math and literacy proficiency assessment within two years of start date.
- Fluent in Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Prior teaching or TA experience
- Previous immersion or Dual Language Immersion teaching experience
