Respiratory Care Assistant in Gastonia, North Carolina at CaroMont Health

Job Summary: To perform a variety of respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy arterial blood gases, and other basic respiratory therapy treatments for hospital patients and outpatients. Invasive procedures are limited to arterial punctures and suctioning of tracheostomies. Respiratory care Assistants may not work with continuous ventilation devices, or in intensive care units or the ED treating adults or pediatric patients. Respiratory Care Assistants may work only under the supervision of a NC licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Qualifications: Current enrollment in an accredited respiratory therapy program. Candidate must be actively enrolled in the 2nd year of the program and have successfully completed floor clinics and all Respiratory Care Assistant competencies. Must have the ability to deal tactfully with patients, co-workers and physicians. BLS required.
