Director of Human Resources and Risk Management in El Centro, California at County of Imperial

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, plan, organize, coordinate and direct the County’s comprehensive centralized Human Resources, Employee-Employer Relations, and Risk Management Programs; functions as technical consultant and advisor to executives, management, and employees; monitor and assure compliance with State and federal legislation, regulations, County policies, and Memoranda of Understanding related to assigned programs; and supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or public administration or related field and five years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources administration, risk management and labor relations including at least two years of supervisory experience.

Valid California driver’s license.

A valid driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
