Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Staff Accountant in overseeing the accounting interns.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains general ledger.
- Reconciles accounts and assist in closing the monthly books.
- Assists in recording vendor bills in the accounting system.
- Assists the Payroll Specialist (or equivalent) with the payroll process.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Records and reconciles customer accounts and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
- Provides outside auditor with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Take part in accounting department weekend coverage of the daily duties as needed from May – September.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Understanding of the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare sales tax reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding TRMF information, guests, and staff.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field required.
- At least three years of related experience required.
Work Environment
This position is in an office environment. Evenings, weekends and holidays required from April through October.

- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at times.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
