BASIC SUMMARY:

Perform and support core accounting functions, including financial transactions, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute day-to- day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and PharPoint staff on issues or queries.
  • Support and actively contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual close activities.
  • Comply with all corporate policies and adhere to all GCP guidelines.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process.
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting processes and policies to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance
  • Contribute to strong internal and external client relationships through positive interactions.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 years in accounting or financial discipline, preferably in a contract research organization.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks) and Excel.
  • Certification/Licensure: Professional certification preferred (i.e., certified public accountant, chartered accountant).
  • Other: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand both written and verbal communication, type/work at a computer, and sit for up to 90% of the workday.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. General office working conditions, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Comments:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no limitations on driving availability.
