Summary

The Manager – New Construction Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day efforts of the solution consultants, sustainability coordinators, commissioning team, and energy engineers, working directly with each team to ensure customer satisfaction and overall profitability of all service lines. The Director of Project Operations interacts and educates both current and potential customers regarding the company’s services and implementation process. The Director- Project Operations works in tandem with the Director- Program Development on implementation / commissioning / energy engineering, as well as ongoing improvements to the processes. A key responsibility of this position is to maintain accountability and be an integral part of client advocacy, marketing, and business development. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Principal/s.

Duties/Responsibilities:

General Duties

  • Ensure profitability of Rivion service lines and regularly report performance to Chief Operating Officer and Principal/s.
  • Oversee project teams and hold them accountable for project schedule and budget.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to all members of the team as they perform their specific job tasks.
  • Maintain quality service standards.
  • Communicate with client teams, as needed, to manage scope of work expectations and performance.
  • Perform project site visits to interact with project teams, as needed.
  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision of project staff, including but not limited to, management of daily activities, management, and approval of time off, preparation and delivery of performance reviews.
  • Assist with sales by participating in client meetings, project estimating, proposals, or other duties as assigned.
  • Implementation knowledge of each of our services.
  • Implement, manage, and evaluate operation processes and procedures, in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by EEI.
  • Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of project operations.
  • Assists in the hiring process of additional team members.
  • Participates in development and implementation of project operations strategy and action plans.
  • Ensures all services are delivered in alignment with EEI’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Act as an advocate for the efficient operations of the built environment.
  • Miscellaneous project duties and team initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all personnel policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • A minimum of 25% business travel.

Relationship to Employees and Clients:

This person directly reports to Rock Ridolfi, Associate for Milwaukee Office.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture / mechanical engineering (emphasis on energy management is preferred).
  • Significant experience with the design / construction / operations of buildings and the associated mechanical systems may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Experience

  • 5+ Years of LEED experience working with both BD+C & O+M suite of rating systems.
  • Project experience performing consulting, commissioning, and energy engineering.
  • LEED AP with BD+C, O+M or ID+C specialty credentials preferred.

Skills

  • Mastery of LEED’s suite of rating systems as it relates to implementation and quality control.
  • Ability to read architectural/mechanical blueprints and specifications/submittals.
  • Proficient with the requirements of ASHRAE 90.1, Appendix G.
  • Project experience managing LEED certifications, ASHRAE energy audits, Commissioning, and Energy Engineering projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent presentation/written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to handle multiple projects, change priorities, and keep pace with a continually heavy workload.

Physical Abilities:

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described are representative of those an employee may encounter in a normal office setting and a construction work site. The work environment of typical office environment requires sitting for long periods and working with computers and other office equipment. The work environment for a construction site visit is physically active and may require significant amounts of standing, walking, squatting, stooping, reaching, and climbing (i.e., ladders) in the field.

Fieldwork will require employee to have mobility, a good sense of balance, manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The physical abilities must be met to perform the essential functions of this job.
