Responsibilities

Operate our shuttle vehicles primarily between VCC and local sites in San Diego’s North County area. Transport patients and clients in a safe, efficient and positive customer- focused manner. May provide courier services between clinic sites.

  • Assist riders in mounting and/or dismounting vehicle including installing and securing child safety seats
  • Maintain transportation schedules for patients
  • Maintain transportation logs and submit to supervisor on a monthly basis
  • Ensure regular maintenance is performed and any mechanical issues are addressed immediately, including cleaning
  • Enforce no eating, drinking or smoking policy by riders inside van
  • Complete and submit vehicle inspection reports
Qualifications

Minimum

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Clean driving record for a minimum period of three years prior to hire; must maintain clean driving record throughout employment
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must successfully complete initial training program

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of VCC facility locations and San Diego’s North County area
  • Ability to read/interpret directional maps (e.g., Thomas Bros) and to use GPS systems
  • Strong customer focused communication skills
  • Ability to drive safely in inclement weather
  • Demonstrated dependability, ability to meet deadlines and adherence to all safety regulations
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities

Pay Range

  • $21.00 - $22.00 per hour Depending On Experience
