Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Behavior Technician (BT)

In-Home & Community-Based - Multiple Schedules Available

Why This Role Matters:

As an RBT or BT, you will provide direct ABA services in home, school, and community settings, helping individuals develop communication, social, behavioral, emotional regulation, and daily living skills.

You will work alongside BCBAs and a supportive clinical team to implement individualized treatment plans in the environments where individuals live, learn, and grow.

You will help children build independence, develop new skills, navigate everyday routines, & participate more confidently in their homes, schools, and communities.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Provide 1:1 ABA services in home, school, and community settings.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA using evidence-based strategies such as reinforcement, prompting, NET, DTT, and task analysis.
  • Help individuals develop communication, social, emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and daily living skills.
  • Support skill development and independence across everyday environments and routines.
  • Accurately collect and record data, complete session documentation, and communicate observations and progress to the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, clinical leadership, families, caregivers, teachers, and other team members to provide consistent, high-quality care.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, ongoing training, and professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold all ethical and professional standards.

What You Bring & Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children required.
  • Experience with autism/developmental disabilities preferred.
  • ABA, childcare, preschool, education, or behavioral health experience a plus.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for positions requiring travel between client locations.
  • Compassionate, dependable, team-oriented, and open to feedback.
  • Comfortable working independently in home, school, and community environments.
  • Commitment to professional standards and ongoing development.

If You Are an RBT:

  • Active RBT certification through the BACB is required.

If You Are a BT (Not an RBT Yet…No Problem!):

  • RBT certification is required within the first four months of employment.
  • Hand Over Hand will provide support and guidance toward obtaining RBT certification.
  • Receive an increase in compensation after becoming RBT certified.
