The following is a job advertisement to work in a Powder Coating shop.
Powder Coating Systems, based out of Tacoma, Washington, is currently looking for a Day Shift Floor Team Member.
The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 5:00AM to 1:30PM.
This is a full-time position.
Starting pay for this position is $18-20 per hour.
This is a highly physical fast-paced position, requiring constant standing, squatting, lifting 50 pounds repetitively, fine finger skills, and other skills usually found in warehouse or other shop positions.
Floor Team Members are responsible for hanging, prepping, inspecting and packing parts.
Successful people in this position move into other positions of responsibility such as Pack Lead, Supervisor, Coater and others.
The best candidates for this position may have a warehouse or shop background although these would not be required to learn the position.
Experience operating a forklift, indoor crane, hand tools, air tools and other tools is a huge plus.
Most benefits for this position go into effect after the initial ninety days and include:

-The ability to earn a Sales Based Production Bonus. (This is earned monthly when we achieve our Sales goal, but paid quarterly.)
Requirements:Although this is an entry-level position, the following are mandatory requirements:
-Reliable transportation to commute to our shop on a daily basis. (We require our employees to be on time daily regardless of the transportation. Although there is a bus stop up the hill from our location, we still require employees to be on time.)
-Current legal documentation to satisfy the I-9 immigration form. (We are required to check out the original of documents used to 1.) establish identity and 2.) prove the right to work in the United States. A quick Google search for i-9 documents will show a list of all acceptable documents we are allowed to accept since it is against the law to require only certain one for this purpose. We are not allowed to accept copies of these documents.)
-The ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.(This position is very physical. Although we require everyone to be able to lift 50 pounds (the usual weight for a box of powder) we do practice two-person lifts and have forklifts and an indoor crane when handling objects larger.)
-The ability to speak, understand and read English.
The following are not mandatory, but extremely helpful:
-Knowledge of operation of a sit-down forklift. (As long as an employee has a legal current Driver's License, we will teach operation of our forklift to use at our shop only.)
-Warehouse/previous shop experience.
-The ability to properly use hand tools, air tools.
-Knowledge of how to use a bander, a pallet jack and other warehouse tools.
