MaxxSouth Broadband is looking for a skilled Fiber Sweep Technician to join our Technical Operations team. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our fiber and broadband network infrastructure, performing system balancing and sweep alignment, responding to outages, and ensuring our customers receive reliable, high-quality service.

What You’ll Do:

· Perform fiber splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and restoration activities on aerial and underground fiber networks.

· Conduct sweep alignment, system balancing, ingress/egress detection, and signal measurements.

· Troubleshoot and repair service interruptions across fiber, coaxial, RF, AC, and DC systems.

· Perform emergency restoration of feeder, distribution, and trunk system outages.

· Install, adjust, repair, and replace active and passive network components, including power supplies and inserters.

· Test and analyze network performance using OTDRs, spectrum analyzers, signal level meters, light meters, and other specialized equipment.

· Read and interpret fiber and CATV system maps, blueprints, and technical documentation.

· Perform plant maintenance, locates, surveys, leakage detection, and service availability assessments.

· Assemble and maintain splice enclosures, optical nodes, cabinets, and associated network infrastructure.

· Maintain accurate documentation, reports, test records, and FCC-related data as required.

· Safely operate company vehicles, bucket trucks, ladders, tools, and testing equipment.

· Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotations when required.

What We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent -required
• 3+ years of hands-on fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience in the cable telecommunications industry as a Maintenance Technician or in a skilled technical role -required -required.
• Ability to read and interpret CATV and fiber network blueprints and system prints -required.
• Comprehensive knowledge fiber optic networks, trunk and distribution systems, optoelectronic systems, sweep test equipment, OTDRs, TDRs, analyzers, and RF test equipment -required.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards -required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions -required.
