Description:

Position Summary

The Panel Line Helper assists in the daily operation of the panel production line by supporting machine operators, preparing materials, handling finished products, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position helps ensure metal panels are produced accurately and efficiently while meeting quality standards and production schedules. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Panel Line Operator with machine setup and production activities.
  • Load coils and raw materials onto production equipment.
  • Feed materials into panel line equipment as directed.
  • Remove finished panels from the production line and stage them for packaging or shipment.
  • Band, stack, label, and organize finished materials.
  • Inspect finished panels for visible defects, dimensional accuracy, and quality compliance.
  • Measure materials and finished products using tape measures and other measuring devices.
  • Assist with production changeovers and setup adjustments.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety hazards to supervision.
  • Maintain material flow to support production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to perform physical labor throughout the workday.

  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience.
  • Experience with roll-forming, panel production, or metal fabrication equipment.
  • Forklift experience or certification.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent handling of steel materials and finished products.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
