Description:

The Technology Strategist reports directly to the Director of Client Success. They serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership teams, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, compliance requirements, and industry best practices. This role focuses on building strong executive relationships, developing long-term IT strategies, and ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable business value. The Technology Strategist partners closely with Account Managers, Technical Account Managers, and project teams to translate business needs into actionable technology roadmaps and solutions.

Requirements:

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Functions

· Strategic Relationship Building
Build and maintain strategic relationships with client executives, gaining a deep understanding of their business goals, operational challenges, and compliance requirements. Serve as the client’s primary advisor for technology planning, security posture, and cloud adoption strategies.

· Alignment & Risk Communication
Collaborate with Account Managers and Technical Account Managers to review technical site assessments, evaluate business risks associated with misalignment, and communicate the impact and urgency of those risks to client leadership.

· Roadmap Development
Create and maintain customized IT roadmaps that reflect each client’s long-term objectives, regulatory needs, and budgetary constraints. Roadmaps should clearly outline:
a. Recommended technology solutions and how they align with business goals/compliance
b. Issue priority
c. Business impact and urgency
d. Estimated costs and timelines

· Execution Oversight
Partner with Technical Account Managers, Account Managers, and the Professional Services team to ensure timely execution of roadmap initiatives and projects.

· Proposal & Project Planning
Develop proposals and project plans that address client needs and alignment gaps, ranging from simple policy changes (e.g., implementing a password policy) to complex infrastructure upgrades. Present recommendations and business cases directly to client leadership.

· Budgeting & Planning
Assist clients in creating technology budgets, including warranty expirations, asset replacement schedules, license renewals, and planning for future needs.

· Service Expertise & Promotion
Maintain in-depth knowledge of Anchor Network Solutions’ offerings and conduct onsite or virtual presentations to highlight products, services, and strategic benefits for clients.

· Industry Engagement
Attend client industry trade shows and events to build relationships, identify emerging technology trends, and position Anchor as a subject matter expert in targeted industries (e.g., healthcare, payroll, construction, private equity, housing authorities).

· Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

· Client satisfaction and retention rates

· Execution rate of roadmap initiatives within defined timelines and budgets

· Reduction of business risks through proactive technology alignment

· Growth in client adoption of recommended solutions

· Measurable improvement in client compliance and security posture

A successful Technology Strategist earns the trust of client executives, ensures that technology is a proactive enabler of business success, and consistently delivers strategies that reduce risk, improve efficiency, and drive measurable value.

Education, Experience & Abilities

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

· 5+ years of experience in technology consulting, account management, or IT strategy roles within an MSP or similar environment

· Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, SOC 2)

· Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value

· Proven ability to build relationships with executives and influence decision-making

· Strategic mindset with strong organizational and project management skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Must have a smart phone.
