Responsibilities
The Cloud Platform organization within Enterprise Technology is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team.
Some Responsibilities May Include
- Manager focused on AWS cloud networking and AWS account lifecycle management. This leader owns the network foundation and the account foundation that every application team in the enterprise builds on top of. The team's work is highly visible, security sensitive, and directly tied to how quickly product teams can deliver in the cloud.
- Cloud networking: Lead the design, build, and operational support of our AWS network architecture, including VPC design and IP address management, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect and hybrid connectivity to on-premise data centers, Route 53 and DNS resolution, load balancing, private connectivity to AWS services, network segmentation, and centralized ingress/egress inspection. Partner closely with Enterprise Network Engineering, Cloud Security, and Architecture to ensure reference patterns are secure, resilient, cost effective, and scalable as our AWS footprint grows.
- Account lifecycle management: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AWS accounts from request and creation through ongoing management and decommission. This includes AWS Organizations and organizational unit structure, service control policies and guardrails, landing zone baselines, tagging and cost allocation standards, access and identity integration, account hygiene and recertification, and remediation of configuration and compliance drift.
- Provisioning automation: Drive the shift from manual, ticket-driven account setup to a self-service, automated provisioning capability. The team will build and mature infrastructure-as-code and pipeline solutions so that new accounts are delivered quickly with baseline networking, security, logging, and controls applied consistently every time. Reducing provisioning lead time while increasing standardization is a primary measure of success for this role.
- Leadership expectations: Build, coach, and develop a team of engineers; balance roadmap delivery against operational and on-call ownership of a critical cloud platform; prioritize effectively across competing enterprise demands; and communicate clearly with technical teams, business partners, and executive stakeholders.
