Open Rank Lecturer in Psychiatry, First Episode Psychosis
Position Summary:
TheDepartment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of NewMexico Health Sciences Center invites applicants for a full-time facultyposition as Open Rank. The assignment will be through the Division ofCommunity Behavioral Health. The position will be focused on providingclinical care, leadership, education and scholarly activities related to FirstEpisode Psychosis.
Responsibilitiesfor the position include oversight of the UNM First Episode Psychosis clinicand consultation to statewide partners on the expansion of the CoordinatedSpecialty Care model to individuals with First Episode Psychosis and theirfamilies. Current independent clinical licensure in New Mexico and experienceproviding care and education for individuals with psychosis is required.Experience providing psychotherapy supervision in CBT for psychosis is stronglydesired. Experience required in providing education and supervision to diverseclinical learners such as nursing students, psychiatry residents, masters levelclinicians, post-doctoral students, occupational therapy students and communitymembers. Experience as an educational preceptor is desired. Experience desiredin development and oversight of interdisciplinary team utilizing formalsupervision models. Prefer candidate with formal education and experience ininstructional design models, program development, evaluation, and research methodsfor expansion and oversight of interdisciplinary learner rotations with clearoutcome measures. A candidate who demonstrates excellent teaching and clinicalskills, commitment to work with individuals from diverse communities, awillingness to collaborate with faculty colleagues to deliver coordinatedprograms with consistent standards is required. All Lecturers are reviewedannually. Workload is determined by the Division Chair and University policies.
Morespecifically, roles and responsibilities of this position will be as follows.This individual will have oversight of the UNM First Episode Psychosis programincluding provision of clinical services, supervision of clinical team, andresponsibility for creating and supervising clinical training electives forinterprofessional students. This individual will also have responsibility forcurriculum development for statewide training in the Coordinated Specialty Carefor First Episode Psychosis model and for providing clinical consultation andsupervision to clinicians statewide.
