Bakery Counter Barista in Santa Monica, California at Farmshop Santa Monica

To provide customer service for all guests checking out with purchases and ordering baked goods & barista drinks.

Opening Duties

• Check in AM deliveries of Farmshop bakery products and rectify against invoice.
• Set up coffee station, brew Tea for Iced tea, Farmshop Blend and Decaf to serve all day
• Display pastries on counter in appealing fashion, keeping Gluten Free pastries separated from regular. Inspect all baked goods for quality and standards
• Pull all pastries aside for shopify orders to be fulfilled for the day
• Store pastries bins appropriately in back to be returned to bakeshop next day
• Check cold beverage inventory for Chai, Lemonade and Cold Brew

Shift Duties

• To provide customer service to guests ordering baked goods and Barista beverages
• Product knowledge of all Farmshop pastries, ingredients, shelf life, availability on daily basis
• Make all beverages FarmShop offers, Espresso drinks, Tumeric drinks, lemonade & teas
• Replenish and know recipes for all cold beverages when low, make Lemonade, brew cold coffee, steep iced chai.
• Complete purchases by ringing in all grocery items, knowledge of the POS system and of all Farmshop product pricing.
• Ask supervisor or manager on duty if item is not priced or scanning.
• Stock all items that may be needed for the daily work flow, cream cheese, jam and butter for bagels, shopping bags, cups, lids, sugars, and ice.
• Package, date, price and label any Farmshop pastries that come in bulk or unwrapped, such as granola, whole cakes and loaves, breads, cookie dough.

Closing Duties

• Break down espresso machine properly and clean
• Restock all items needed for the next days business, bags, cups, lids, sugars, cleaning products, towels etc...
• Count remaining baked goods for EOD inventory and wrap items we keep for next day, donate items designated for charity
• Package any remaining cookies in 3 packs with date and labels
• Advise closing supervisor of any open transactions and tips to be add
• Clean entire area, sweep and mop
• Empty any ice remaining
• Dump out all remaining coffee and ice tea and fill with rinse for overnight soak
• Count cash tips and report to closing supervisor.
