WHEDA is seeking a Business Applications Manager to join our Information Technology department in our Madison facility.

SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $103,901-$130,663 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary, and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The position of Business Applications Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all core business applications. Specifically, the overall support, leading, roadmap and lifecycle management. This also includes software application development for home grown applications. Manage software lifecycle activity to maintain and upgrade existing systems and applications. Ensures that the strategic system landscape enables operational effectiveness across the Authority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Overall ownership of the strategic systems landscape of internal and external applications and their integrations within the Business Applications team. Guides the Authority on software strategy, design and processes to drive operational effectiveness in meeting strategic objectives. Manages and maintains all applications within purview.
  • Identifies application needs and implements solutions, via analysis, design, execution, testing, monitoring, and support. Mentors and coaches’ staff in developing and improving their technical, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Perform supervisory duties, including hiring, training, and coaching, performance evaluations and corrective action, ensuring employees follow policies and procedures, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the team and Authority via system and process improvements. Create and maintain Roadmaps for high impact systems. Manages analysis and software development methodologies, tools and standards to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Implement and train others on best practices.
  • Collaborates with all business units to meet system enhancements, production support, testing, and reporting needs. Manages software lifecycle activity, collaborating with external vendors as needed, to maintain and upgrade existing systems and applications.
  • Assists with ensuring the Project Management Office project portfolio is prioritized, aligned, staffed, and executed successfully as required by strategic organization goals. Act as a Project Manager, Sponsor, Stakeholder, Technical Owner, or Business Owner as needed.
  • Participates in budgeting, selecting, and purchasing activities for technology procurement. Works with Finance and IT support staff to coordinate the ordering, receiving, testing, and payment activities related to the acquisition and maintenance of technology.
  • Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, AND 5 years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment, including a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License Required

Remote Work Options:

This position has a work schedule that will initially be 100% in-office. After training is complete, it is at the discretion of the direct manager when the employee may begin a hybrid work schedule.
