Description:
ATA Services, Inc. is currently seeking to hire General Service Workers to help maintain City facilities, grounds, parking areas, parks, and public spaces.
- Pay: $14.25 per hour with weekly pay
- Location: Albuquerque, NM
- Schedule: 40 hours per week 7:00am – 3:30pm. There is a possibility that employees may be scheduled to work on weekends. We will assign their schedules accordingly based on operational needs
- Assignment date: 3+ months
This hands-on position performs a variety of custodial, maintenance, construction, event support, and groundskeeping duties while providing excellent customer service to the public.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Weed trimming, picking up trash, and changing trash bags.
- Cleaning On/Off ramps, hand shoveling, and other general maintenance tasks.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Clean and maintain work areas; remove debris and trash.
- Perform basic maintenance and landscaping tasks.
- Carry out physical labor, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, digging, and sweeping.
- Drive City pickup trucks and other City vehicles as required to transport personnel, tools, materials, and equipment between job sites.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools.
- Follow all workplace safety rules and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Set up traffic control measures (cones, barricades, and signs) as required.
- Handle materials, stock supplies, and assist with deliveries.
- Be willing to work weekends as needed.
Mandate Requirements
- Valid driving license is mandate. (Candidates must provide a copy of their driver's license on orientation day)
- The Candidates are willing and available to work on weekends
- Must be able to pass a drug test and extensive background check
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of general maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, construction, or repair experience preferred.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- General building maintenance, custodial work, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor electrical repairs.
- Grounds and athletic field maintenance practices.
- Safe operation of maintenance equipment, tools, forklifts, and vehicles.
- Ability to work independently and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may include exposure to dust, noise, fumes, grease, weather conditions, and maintenance equipment. Duties require frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and performing moderate to heavy physical work.
